Obituary
Jill L. Homan , age 55 of Rockford, IL, passed away at home on Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was born on August 11, 1962 in Freeport, IL; the daughter of Larry and Mary Ann (Oppold) Shelly. She was a 1980 graduate of Freeport High School and received an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Highland Community College. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lewis University. Jill married Tim Homan on September 12, 1980.
She worked as an RN for FHN Memorial Hospital for several years. She loved floral arranging and crafts, she could make something out of anything. Above all else, her grandchildren were number one. She loved spending time with them and they lovingly called her "Meme."
Jill is survived by her husband, Tim Homan of Rockford; mother, Mary Ann Shelly of Freeport; son, Mike (Elizabeth) Homan of Rockford; grandchildren, Dane & Finley; brothers, Kirk (Marsha) Shelly and Mark (Darla) Shelly both of Davis; and sister, Lisa (Terry) Starliper of Freeport. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Shelly and Brother, Leon Shelly.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 17 th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. The funeral service will be Monday, June 18 th at 1:30 p.m. also at Walker Mortuary. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in her name.Services
