Thomson, Ill. Joan M. Glasser-Barsema, 72, of Thomson, formerly of Freeport, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at her home.
Born July 13, 1938, in Monroe, Wis., she was the daughter of Lowell and Marion (Campbell) Markwardt. Joan married Dale I. Glasser June 5, 1987.
He preceded her in death. She married Rich Barsema April 28, 2001.
Joan worked for Newell Companies in Freeport.
Surviving are her husband, Rich of Thomson; her daughter, Hilary (Chad Riese) of Freeport; two stepdaughters, Rana (Steve Jones) Barsema of Morrison and Christine (Fred) Reedy of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Walker Mortuary. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
