Joanne M. Komprood , age 71 of Dakota, IL, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. She was born September 15, 1951 in Dodgeville, WI; the daughter of the late Ardell and Doris (Eustice) Troy. Joanne married Wayne Komprood on May 30, 1970 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg, WI.

She was team lead at Honeywell where she worked for 42 years. Joanne was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Irish Grove, in Davis, IL and treasurer of St. Annes CCW.  She enjoyed baking pies for church meals and making table runners for silent auctions. Her memberships also include Steelworks Retirees Club, Midway Sno-Busters, Winnebago Itasca Travelers, Rock Run Historical Society, Have Snow Will Travel, and Cardinal Capers RV Club.

She loved quilting, baking, and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states, Alaska being her favorite. Part of her travels included snowmobiling in 6 states including Yellowstone National Park. Joanne was an avid Packer fan and in past years also enjoyed NASCAR. Family was her number one priority and her greatest joy. She loved hosting large family picnics at her home. She will always be remembered as a giving person that was always taking care of others.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Wayne of Dakota; sons, Alan (Ruthie) of Orangeville, IL and Chuck (Kris) of Milton, WI; granddaughter, Bianca of Milton, WI; grandsons, Blake & Brock of Orangeville; great grandson, Damian of Milton, WI; brothers, John (Becky) Troy of Benton, WI, Steve (Connie) Troy of Callao, MO, and Dr. Raymond Troy of Columbus, OH; sisters, Ruth (Jim) Gerber of Stockton, IL and Kathy (Greg Signer) Cole, of Cuba City, WI; 7 brother-in-laws; 9 sister-in-laws; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3 ^rd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota, IL with a Rosary Service at 3:30 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, December 5 ^th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand, IL. Interment will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Davis, IL. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the FHN Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center and UW Cancer Research.
