John Delano Erwin Jr., 53, of Freeport, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born August 29, 1960 in Freeport he was the son of John D. and Patricia (Wirsing) Erwin Sr.
John was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his parents of Freeport; his sisters, Dawn Weber of Washington, Iowa, Debra (Tom) Line of Monroe, Wisconsin, and Melanie Zorrilla of Spain; his brother, Jay (Soon) Erwin of Evans, Georgia; six nephews; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Bethany United Church of Christ.
Interment of his cremated remains will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established for Bethany United Church of Christ.
