John C. Hilton, 90, of Orangeville, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born September 19, 1918 in Rockford he was the son of Albert and Lillian (Isaac) Hilton. He married Ruth Angle June 18, 1942 and she died September 20, 2004.
John was a lifetime Stephenson County Farmer.
An avid bowler he was a member of the Stephenson County Farm Bureau and Northern Illinois Retirees Camping Club
Surviving is his son, Andrew W. Hilton of Freeport; 1 daughter, Kristina S. (Alan) Breiseth of West Chicago; 1 sister, Gwen Ang of Rockford; 2 brothers, Robert (Wanda) Hilton and Joseph (Darlene) Hilton both of Wisconsin; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 1 son; 2 grandchildren; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial service will be Saturday 10:30 a.m. at McConnell United Methodist Church in McConnell.
Interment of his cremated remains will be in the Cedarville Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Orangeville School District School District Library Fund.
