Freeport – John D. Jares, 71 of Freeport passed away at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago on April 19, 2023 after an extended illness. He was born on April 21, 1951 to the late Laddie and Ethel (Hemmer) Jares. He graduated in 1969 from Maine East High School and then went on to make a 50+ year career with the local 597 Pipefitters Union that he was very proud of. He enjoyed being outdoors and had made many wonderful memories at Lake Carroll enjoying lots of water sports and snowmobiling through the years.

He is survived by his loving brother, Daniel J. Jares of Bloomingdale, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents. There will be a visitation held on Thursday, April 27 from 2-5pm at Walker Mortuary @ 321 W. Main St. Freeport, IL 61032. Additional services will be held at First Church of Lombard UCC @ 220 S. Main St. in Lombard, IL 60148 on Friday, April 28, 2023 with a visitation beginning at 12:00pm followed by a service at 1pm.

A memorial has been established in his name for the charities listed below and condolences can be left for his brother at www.walkermortuary.com . John's final resting place will be with his parents at Oakridge Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois.
