John Rodriguez, age 86 of Freeport, IL and formerly Chicago, IL, passed away on Saturday February 4, 2023. He was born in Selma, Texas on August 29, 1936, to Heliodoro Rodriguez and Andrea (Rojas) Rodriguez. Beloved and proud uncle to many nieces and nephews. John had challenges in life battling his mental health issues but always found solace in prayer and fishing. He enjoyed nothing more than fishing with his family and friends and the many adventures that came with a Rodriguez fishing trip.

He is survived by his; Nephews, Tom Haiklas, George McDonald, and Arturo (Monica) Rodriguez; nieces, Yolanda (Louis) Calderon, Andrea (Brian) Myzia. He was preceded in death by his; parents, Heliodoro and Andrea Rodriguez; brothers, Arturo D. Rodriguez and Merci R. Rodriguez; niece Jackie Gentry and nephew Christopher D. Rodriguez.
