John R. Shipley, 73, formerly of Freeport, died Sunday, September 1, 2012 in California.
Born November 5, 1938 in Freeport he was the son of Robert and Margaret (Prasse) Shipley.
John worked for Micro Switch in Freeport.
He enjoyed Fishing, Darts, and playing Pool.
Surviving are his daughter, Sarah (Randy) Witt of Lanark; his son, Robert (Justi) Shipley of Benton, Louisiana; 4 brothers, Fred Shipley, Marty (Jean) Shipley, and Larry (Marilyn) Shipley all of Freeport, Norman (Michelle) Shipley of Roseville, California; 8 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 sister, Harriet Shipley Grant.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
