John Daniel Wise, 84, of Freeport, died Friday, November 26, 2010, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born April 8, 1926 in Grand Junction, Iowa he was the son of Charles and Flossie (Hoefle) Wise.
He married Leona R. Briggs Jogerst on August 21, 1948 and she died February 28, 1994. He married E. Louise Ridenour October 15, 1994.
John worked at Fair Banks Morse for 13 years and 26 years at Structo King Seely retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife, Louise of Freeport; 1 step-son, Dennis Ridenour of Bremerton, Washington; 1 brother, Keith (Sara Jane) Wise of Freeport; 2 grandchildren, Collette (Roy) Dyson of Freeport and Leanette (Ryan) Marten of Wheeler, Wisconsin; 3 great grandchildren, Stacy Dyson, Jeremy (Aimee) Dyson and Katelyn Dyson all of Freeport; 5 great great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren, Paul and Michael Ridenour of Maryland, John and James Ridenour of Bremerton, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 step-daughters, Donna Jogerst and Patricia Wallis; first wife; 1 brother, Paul Wise; and 3 sisters, Marie Lorensen, Burnetta Larson, and Athelia Erdmier.
Funeral services will be at Trinity United Methodist Church 11 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 with Reverend Julie Bunt officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday 10 a.m. until time of service at Trinity United Methodist Church.
