Freeport-Joseph C. Doerr, 90, of Freeport, died Monday December 26, 2005, at his home.
Born July 3, 1915 in Stephenson County he was the son of Henry and Kathryn (Donahue) Doerr. He married Irma M. Mercier November 14, 1935 and she preceded him in death.
He worked as a supervisor at Burgess Battery for 40 years retiring in 1974.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church and member and past president of Friends Forever Humane Society
Surviving is his son, John J. (Vicky) Doerr of Miramar Beach, Fl; his daughter, Kathy (Wayne) Lohmeier of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters, Evelyn Gold of Altamonte Springs, Fl and Marian Heinisch of Arlington Heights; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his friend, Vera McMurray of Freeport; former neighbors Jack and Norma Parkinson of Freeport
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irma; one son, Ronnie; and one daughter, Barbara.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be Saturday 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church with Reverend Neville Kretzman officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for Friends Forever Humane Society and First Lutheran Church.
