Joseph Bernard Freeman , better known as Bobo, 63 of Freeport, IL passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Freeport Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on March 8, 1958 to Eddie Mae Pickens and Willie Beard in Lepanto, AR.

Joseph graduated from Lepanto High School in 1976. He later moved to Freeport, IL in 1977. He worked for Honeywell for 26 years. He loved being around his family and friends. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He always had you laughing. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents; son, Joseph Bernard Freeman Jr. of Freeport, IL; three grandchildren, Aziah Freeman, Jayvin Freeman and Harmonii Freeman; fiancé, Teresa Morris of Freeport, IL; three brothers, Donald (Carolyn) Coleman of Lepanto, AR, Ronald (Rene) Coleman of Lepanto, AR, and Robert Beard of Tampa, FL; eight sisters, Carolyn Madlock of Lepanto, AR, Darlene (Norvell) Young of Lepanto, AR, Wendy (AJ) Burnside of Freeport, IL, Jean Hill of Dallas, TX, Joyce Foster of Detroit, MI, Brenda Jones of Detroit, MI, Sherri Jackson of Saginaw, MI, and Denise Beard of Detroit, MI; two very close and special friends, Willie Hagen and Aubrey Chatters. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding him in death are his wife, Mary Catherine Freeman; and his sister Mary Beard.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4 ^th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 5 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at New Jerusalem COGIC at 4 E.
