Joyce E. Goethe, 83 of Freeport died Friday July 24, 2009 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Born December 4, 1925 in Freeport she was the daughter of John and Erma (Wenger) Heilman. She and Lowell Goethe were married June 27, 1944 at Hugo, OK. Joyce enjoyed all kinds of crafting including ceramics, knitting crocheting and quilting. She was A fun loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Lowell of Freeport, 2 sons John (Trudy L.) Goethe of Harrisonville, MO, Dennis (Lana) Goethe of Durand; 2 daughters Karen (E. John) Johnson of Pearl City, Susan (Dan) Manson of Berthoud, CO; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law Trudy A. Goethe of Rockford; 2 sisters Esther (Bill) Dickman of Freeport, Ruby Bartlett of Sun Prairie, WI; sister-in-law Betty Heilman of Freeport; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son Stephen, 4 brothers Al, Jack, Jim, Cliff and two sisters Gladys and Zelda.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.
