Joyce E. Henning, age 79 of Freeport, IL passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018. She was born on February 10, 1939 to the late Elmer and Bessie (Anderson) Ascher. Joyce married Roger Henning on February 14, 1960 at Trinity United Brethren Church in Freeport.

She was a 1957 graduate of Freeport High School and a member of Bethany UCC. Joyce worked as a Dental Assistant for most of her life. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, music, vacationing at White Lake, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Roger Henning; her daughters, Elizabeth (Dan Williams) Henning and Catherine (Steve) Maronde; her grandchildren, Michael, Lakin, Jacob, Kortney, Kaitlyn, Brooke, Garrett, Jericho, Danielle and Peyton; her five great grandchildren and one on the way; and her sister, Janis Pierce. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother in law, Fern Henning; and her father in law, William Henning.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Bethany UCC in Freeport at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A memorial fund has been established.
