Obituary

Joyce Lucht Anderson passed away peacefully September 23,2021. Born on Feb 4, 1949 in Rockton, Illinois to Joe and Annabelle (Schlueter) Lucht.  She is a 1967 graduate of Dakota High School in Dakota, IL.

She worked for 24 years at Micro Switch as a draftsman. She loved her work and what she accomplished while employed there. She left her work due to some un-foreseen health reasons.

Joyce began her new retired life at home working her many talents. She was an artist like no other. If she didn't know how to do something she would figure it out, perfect it, and then be amazing at it.  Joyce had such a kindred spirit and was a lady of many talents. She was a top-level gardener, canner, the best cook, and baker. Joyce had a knack for many crafts. Her quilts were award winning and just about everyone has a pair of her knitted "comfort" socks. Where over the years she knitted hundreds of socks, most given away to family, friends, and total strangers who needed a pick me up.  She also excelled at wood carving, water color painting, cross-stitching, tatting, and porcelain doll making. She even perfected wine making, she loved to share a bottle with friends, family, and to donate to a good cause. Most of the profits for her sales were donated to various non-profit organizations or to individuals to just help out their situation.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Annabelle (Schlueter) Lucht, and special Aunt Louise (Schlueter) Harbach who was like a second mother to Joyce. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, John Anderson of Dakota, IL, three sisters: Mary (Jerry) Lohmeier of Davis IL, Nancy (Bill) Lapp of Dakota IL, And Barbara (Denny) Bird, Janesville WI, her step children: Jaci (Greg) Stowe of Bonaire, Ga, Jesi (Rick) Wolnik of Phoenix, Az, Jami (Jim) Jones of Mesa, Az. Jodi Anderson, Christina ( Mike) Hetzler of Ann Arbour, Michigan,  Denice ( Mike ) Clenney of Marshall,Michigan, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
