Joyce E. Schwarze, 81, of Freeport, died Monday, September 1, 2014, at her home. Born August 15, 1933 in Freeport she was the daughter of Irvin and Grace (Fransen) Steinhagen. She married Orville H. Schwarze June 6, 1953. Joyce was a local clerical worker retiring from Highland Community College. She was a member of Cedarville Emmanuel Church in Cedarville where she had taught Sunday school. Joyce enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband. Surviving are her husband, Orville of Freeport; and her daughter, Debra Schwarze of Shannon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband's parents, Harris and Viola Schwarze. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Cedarville Emmanuel Church in Cedarville with Pastor Christopher Pope officiating. The visitation will be Thursday 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the Church. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. The family wants to thank Hospice Care of America for their excellent care.
