Joyce J. Strohacker, age 88 of Freeport, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Stephenson Nursing Center in Freeport. She was born September 3, 1929; the daughter of the late Ora and Fern (Kleckner) Hogins. She was a graduate of Freeport High School. On August 31, 1951, Joyce married Howard Strohacker; he passed on September 19, 2001.

She had worked for Crum & Forrester in Freeport. She was a member of Embury United Methodist Church of Freeport. Joyce and Howard enjoyed going fishing together. She also enjoyed going for walks and visiting with her neighbors. She loved sewing and made teddy bears.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Peters of Pearl City, IL and Terry LeBaron of Green Bay, WI; granddaughter, Sara Peters of Pearl City; sister, Bernita (Carl) Thompson of Kalamazoo, MI; and sister-in-law, Carol Noto of Rockford. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 50 years, Howard.
