Joyce E. Sturtevant, 84, of Freeport, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Parkview Home in Freeport.
Born May 1, 1929 she was the daughter of John and Nellie (Howe) Fickert. On August 16, 1952 she married Donald E. Sturtevant. He died September 6, 2010.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church teaching Sunday school for over 45 years and active in the United Methodist Women.
Surviving is her son Daniel (Michelle) Sturtevant; her daughter Patricia (David) Krusey; two grandchildren Matthew and Jenna Krusey; all of Freeport; one sister, Joan Finkboner of Freeport; one brother, William (Esther) Fickert of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday May 22, 2013 at First United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with visitation starting at 10 a.m. Reverend Young Ok Park of the church will be officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum in Freeport. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established for First United Methodist Church and Parkview Home.
