Judith Ann Sumpter, 73, formerly of Ralls, Texas, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, in Freeport, Illinois with her family by her side. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.  Judith was born July 26, 1949, in Altus, Oklahoma to John and Jewel (Rutledge) Sumpter. She graduated from Ralls High School with the Class of 1967. Later, she continued her education at the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, earning an RN degree. Judith was a registered nurse for 35 years until her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, woodworking and crafts.  Judith was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jewel Sumpter; and two brothers, Donald and Joe Popchoke.  She is survived by her son, Shelby Sumpter and wife, Amy; of Pottsboro, TX; her daughter, Lori Jean Sumpter of Freeport, Illinois; two granddaughters, Kristlyn Ham and Ashton Sumpter, both of Lubbock, TX; grandson, Maverick Sumpter and wife, Savanna, of Lubbock, TX; and three great grandsons.  Her final resting place will be in Altus, Oklahoma.
