IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julie A
Borovoy
April 7, 1943 – June 23, 2021
Julie A. Borovoy (Janssen), 78, died Wednesday at home surrounded by her loved ones and the cats she loved. Julie was born April 7, 1943 to Addison D. Janssen and Betty (Geisey) in Freeport, Il.
Julie graduated from Freeport High School in 1961 then married John C. Borovoy in Pensacola, Fl in 1963 when he was stationed there with the Navy.
Julie was shy growing up but warm and loving to her family and cats. Being a lifelong Navy wife she lived in many different places and had many different professions. A few of her favorites were advertising for Micro Switch in Freeport where her mom worked (1962), working as a secretary at Farmers insurance in Everett,WA (1993), and working as an Avon representative in Lemoore, CA.
Julie loved reading books and especially Stephen King. Julie loved watching horror movies and watching her favorite TV shows. She loved working puzzles and coloring while listening to Elvis or Johnny Mathis. When she was younger she loved to sing, paint, and garden.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents and survived by daughter Christine Borovoy(52) of Freeport. She absolutely adored her two granddaughters Cosie Borovoy (22) of Freeport and Isis (Dorien) Jackson (20) of Georgia. Her brother Terry (Cindy) Janssen (74) of Indianapolis who was by her side the day before she died. John's sister Juliet (Charles) Sykes who we spent time with in Galena before her illness.
She loved all her nieces and nephews and wrote their birthdays on her calendar every year. And of course her very best friends Ardis Geiseman and Sharon Schulze. Julie loved spending time with her friends and her FHS classmates of '61 dinner group.
We'd like to invite friends and family to join us at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum at 2619 W. Pearl City Rd. in Freeport for entombment of her cremated remains on July 13th at 1pm.
If you'd like to put something into the niche with Julie you can bring it with and place it on the alter. If you have cute stories or memories you'd like to share, write them down there will be time to share.
