Freeport
Julie Ransom, 51, of Freeport, went to be with god, with her loving family at her side, at home, October 22, 2011.
She was born August 18, 1960 the daughter of Darrell and Fran (Heck) Ransom in Freeport.
Julie enjoyed her family, pets, and was a teacher who had a great love of history participating in many Civil War reenactments.
Survivors include her parents of Freeport; her daughters, Katharine Rausch of Freeport, Victoria (Kane) Hanson of Fort Benning, Georgia; sister, Kathleen (John) Mason of Ridott; Nephew, Ryan (Rachel) Hiser of Freeport; Grandmother, Frances Heck of Decatur, Indiana; special friend, Bill Teshner of Elgin; and her faithful companion dog Saraid.
Cremation rights were accorded.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial for Friends Forever Humane Society has been established in her honor.
Julie fought a courageous fight against cancer.
Her family wishes to thank Monroe Clinic Hospice, those who sent food, cards and all who included Julie in their prayers.
