Obituary

Freeport
June Mary Brubaker McFalls went home to glory to be with her beloved Savior on August 11th, 2012. Her beautiful voice is once again being heard in heaven as she sings praises to her Lord and Master at His feet. June was 87 years old and leaves behind a loving family, many friends, and is only temporarily separated from her Christian brothers and sisters.
June was born in Freeport on February 9th, 1925, to parents Maude (nee Boyer) and Lester Brubaker, and lived at Lincoln Towers, Freeport, Illinois. Married to Dick McFalls on August 22nd, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri, June spent her life devoted to her husband and family. Their four children were raised in Freeport and all share many cherished memories of their mother.
Besides a dedicated homemaker, June had several second jobs, working for Reitinger Cleaners, Burgess Battery, Structo, Newell, the Freeport Medical Clinic, JC Pennys, and Rawleighs. June was a volunteer at FHN Memorial Hospital's gift shop for fourteen years. If you asked June where her best work was done, she would certainly tell you it was her service to God. June was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church for many years, and was most recently a member of the Baileyville Baptist Church. June will be remembered most for her lovely soprano voice. She loved to sing praises in the choir, ladies ensembles, and solos. She was a member of Joy Singers for eight years.
June was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Billie Brubaker, and her husband, Dick McFalls. She is survived by a brother, Dr. Larry L. Brubaker (LaVanda), Kings Mountain, North Carolina, son, Randall (Jackie) McFalls, Boise, Idaho, daughter, Sharyn (Duane) Babcock, Lena, Illinois, daughter, Jolene (Frank) Barncord, Mascoutah, Illinois, and son, John McFalls, Sr., Oregon, Illinois. June leaves nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 14th and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Walker Mortuary. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 15th at 10:30 am, at Walker Mortuary, officiated by Pastor Alan Cassel. June's earthly remains will be laid to rest next to her husband's at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for Baileyville Baptist Church and Stephenson County Resource Center for the Senior Bus.
