June E. Mohns-Wendler, 83, of Brodhead, WI died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at her home.
Born June 19, 1929 in Monroe, WI she was the daughter of James and Isabele Caldwell.
June was a graduate of Brodhead High School and Witewater College with a Master Degree in Education, teaching for 46 years in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
She married Harold Mohns on August 17, 1952 and he preceded her in death in January of 1999. She then married Elvan Wendler on February 23, 2009.
She was a member of the Evangelic United Bretheran Church, the Monroe Eastern Star and Spectrum Art Club. She started the Brodhead Art Club and won many awards for her paintings in Southern Wisconsin.
She is survived by her husband Elvan of Brodhead; a brother James Caldwell of Brodhead; a sister Mary (Herbert) Searls of Brodhead; stepchildren Robert (Theresa) Wendler of Winnebago, Barbara (Floyd) Nine of San Antonio, TX, William (Tina) Wendler of Stillman Valley, Therese (Chris) Kohl of Pennsylvania, Tom (Lana) Wendler of Milwaukee, WI, Tim (Jodie) Wendler of Rockford, Nichols Thomas Wendler of Footville, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and first husband Harold.
Visitation will be Friday 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota, IL. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 115 S. West St. Dakota, IL.
Burial will be at the Twin Grove Cemetery, Twin Grove, WI.
