Karen S. Lorenz, age 75 of Freeport, IL, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Pearl Pavillion in Freeport. She was born March 18, 1942; the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Propp) Bose. She graduated from Freeport High School and completed several college courses. Karen married Jon Lorenz on June 27, 1964. Jon and Karen moved to Aurora, IL in 1967.
Karen had worked for Springfield Monarch Insurance and at Honeywell while still in Freeport. She was the office manager at Aurora Iron & Metal in Aurora for 20+ years; and retired from being a medical assistant for Marionjoy Rehabilitation in Wheaton, IL. She was a longtime member of The American Business Women's Association in Aurora and of Mooseheart in Batavia, IL. Karen and Jon moved back to Freeport in 2015. Karen enjoyed league bowling, golfing, laughing and spending time with her family.
A private family service will be held. Donations can be made in Karen's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, one of Karen's favorite charities.
