Karen K. Otte, age 73 of Freeport, IL passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. She was born July 19, 1943 in Freeport to the late Harry and Bethel (Walters) Kerchner. She married Alan Otte on June 16, 1961 in Lena, IL; he passed on September 16, 2009.

Karen and her late husband, Alan were co-owners of Downing & Otte Service Center in Freeport for several years. They also operated their own snow plow business. She worked at Sieg Auto Parts, Rockford Tractor and Kuntz Brothers. She has been retired for many years.

Surviving are her three daughters, Pam Springer and Lori (Brian) Dornink both of Freeport and Terri (Dave) Finch of Davenport, Iowa; six grandchildren, Kirby (Jamie) Dornink of Poplar Grove and Kacie (Fiance' Kari) Dornink of Freeport , Briana (Clint) Voss of Walcott Iowa, MacKenzie (Steven Lane) Finch of Davenport Iowa, Jordan (Lexi) Finch of N.C. , and Kylie Finch Davenport Iowa; five great grandchildren, Colton & Braxton Voss, Aubrie & Brody Dornink, Aliviana Lane, and special little man, Raziel. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alan; son-in-law, Scott Springer; brother, Gary Gene Kerchner; sister, Sally Strohacker; and sister-in-law, Linda Kerchner.

The funeral service will be held Monday, November 21st at 11:00 am at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Condolences may be
