Karen K. Posey of Loves Park, IL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Serenity Home Hospice in Oregon, IL after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Freeport, IL on April 5, 1961 to Robert & Irene (Schmitz) Posey. Raised by Donald & Rita (Schmitz) Wittbecker, her forever parents.

She is survived by her brother, Rick (Linda) Posey and Norman (Holly) Hornung; cousins, Donald (Judy) Horning; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by all parents; brothers, Robert, Gary and Richard.

Karen was a graduate of Freeport High School and of Highland Community College with Associates Degree in Accounting & Business Administration. She was employed for 25 years as an Accountant with Danfoss. Karen was married for 14 years to Craig Schock.

She raised various fur babies over the years, cats & dogs. She enjoyed reading, music, and long walks in the local parks. She made several trips to the Caribbean. She loved the ocean and collected shells on her trips. In her final days, he joy came from loved one's visits and remembering life's good times.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport, IL. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. A memorial fund has been established for Serenity Hospice Home. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
