Karen F. Murphy Teachout, 75, of Freeport, died Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Presence St. Joseph.
Born July 6, 1940 in Dakota she was the daughter of Harold W. and Leona L. (Lestikow) Beidler.
She married Herbert Murphy Sr. She then married Kenneth Teachout May 19, 1986 and he preceded her in death April 5, 2004.
She was a 1958 graduate of Dakota High School.
She was a member of Dakota Rock Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, Shari (Jim) Cook of Columbus, Ohio, Kellie (Harold) Beckman of Madison, Wisconsin, Mark (Candy) Murphy of Rockford, Brian (Sandy) Murphy of Shannon, Aaron Murphy, Herbert "Butch"Murphy Jr., and Joseph Murphy all of Freeport; her mother-in-law, June Teachout of Sterling; 19 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kimberly Murphy; 1 sister, Joyce Beidler.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. September 12, 2015 at Dakota Rock Grove United Methodist Church in Dakota. Burial will be in Dakota Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday September 11, 2015 at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota and 10 a.m. until time of service at the church on Saturday, September 12, 2015.
A memorial has been established for Dakota Rock Grove United Methodist Church.
