Karen R. Thompson, 57, of Freeport, died Thursday, August 30, 2012.
Born October 31, 1954 in Freeport she was the daughter of Arnold and Harriett (Knight) O'Neill.
Karen was dedicated to helping people with special needs. She worked at St. Francis School for Exceptional Children for 17 years and for the past 12 years at Ridge Terrace.
Surviving is her mother, Harriett O'Neill; her son, Nathan Thompson both of Freeport; 2 sisters, Linda (Dale) Feltmeyer of Harrison, Arkansas and Connie Rhea of Freeport; her brother, Larry (Trudi) O'Neill of Freeport; 1 grandson, Zachary Arachikavitz of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by father.
Private family only services will be held.
