Kathleen "Kay" A. Koester, 76, of Freeport, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Born February 12, 1940 in Traverse City, Michigan she was the daughter of Arlo and Mary (Brown) Loomis. She married Dale J. Koester October 2, 1971 in Forreston.
She was a U.S Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.
Kay was office Manager for the Stephenson County Probation Department retiring in 2005.
Surviving are her husband, Dale of Freeport; her brothers, William J. Loomis of Carbondale, Il, and Matt (Joan) Loomis of Riverside, Florida; her sister, Pam Loomis of Lansing, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Michael.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Walker Mortuary.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
