Kathryn A. Epling, 95, of Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport died Tuesday, November 26, 2014 at the center. Born August 28, 1919 in Freeport she was the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Cook) Fenton. Kathryn was a 1937 graduate of Freeport High School. On September 2, 1939 she and William Epling were united in marriage and he preceded her in death in October of 1983. She was a member of German Valley United Methodist Church and worked at Micro Switch for 18 years. Surviving are two daughters Francis (Rodney) Tracy of Monroe, WI, and Sharon Huenefeld of Pinnacle, NC; three grandsons Randy Tracy of Freeport, Joe (Barb) Tracy of Freeport, and Ray (Dotty) Tracy of Freeport; two granddaughters Teressa (Dale) Hetherington of Jacksonville, NC, and Christine (Anthony) Allen of Pinnacle, NC; ten great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; sister Gwendolyn Fenton of Freeport; sister-in-law Betty Fenton of Freeport. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband William, stepson Ray Epling and a brother Frank Fenton. Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held.
