Katrina L. Toelke, age 32 of Rock City, IL, went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. She was born December 30, 1983, the daughter of Duane C. Toelke and Suzanne K. (Bimm) Truessel. Katrina graduated from Dakota High School with the class of 2002. She then went on to Rock Valley College where she graduated in May of 2016 with a degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Katrina had dedicated the past several years to earning her degree and a few of her proudest moments were the days of her graduation and passing her certification. She went on to working as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Swedish American Hospital and had a true passion for her job. Katrina had also worked at The Rock City Tap where she formed many great friendships.

Katrina had recently dedicated her life to God and was baptized on Easter of 2016 at Crossroads Community Church. Katrina loved spending time with her friends, family and pug, Miss Piggy. Above all, she loved her beautiful daughter, Aniya. Aniya was truly the most important part of Katie's life and the one who she worked so hard for.

Katrina is survived by her daughter, Aniya Fleming; mother and step father, Suzanne and Donnie Truessel of Rockford; Father, Duane Toelke of Davis; sisters, Melissa (Jason) Banks of Morrison, Amanda Toelke of Rockford, and Rebecca (Jon) Leiser of Freeport; nieces, Adrienne, Gabrielle, Scarlett, Madison, and Sydney Rose; nephew, Kaleb; aunt, Linda Toelke; uncles, Steve (Christine) Bimm, Larry Toelke, and Robert (Nancy) Toelke; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Jerry Lee Fleming III; and grandparents, Irene & Alvin Toelke and Oscar & Lois Bimm.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Crossroads Community Church in Freeport. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 28th at 10:30 am also at the church. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Machesney Park at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for her daughter's college fund.
