Kay Bach was called to her eternal home on September 29, 2014.
She was born in McGregor, Iowa on January 14, 1939, the only child of Marvel (White) and Reuben Rayment. She graduated from Mar-Mac High School in 1956 and went on to college, graduating from Upper Iowa University in 1960. She taught for the Freeport School District for 29 years and earned her Master's Degree in 1989.
She enjoyed 52 years of married life with her lifetime partner and friend, Michael Bach. They were married July 7, 1962 in McGregor, Iowa.
Kay directed the Taylor Park Chorus for approximately 10 years. She also directed the choir at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for 25 years. She was very active in her church.
Kay enjoyed many genres of music, she liked to bake and she especially enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Another of her favorite activities was going places with her Red Hat friends.
She is survived by her husband, and her children; daughter, Nikki (Jim) Eken of Bolingbrook, Illinois, three sons, Joseph (Mary Jo Clapper) Bach of Freeport, Ted (Lauren) Bach of Chicago, and Monte (Angela) Bach of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Jordan (Cassidy) Tempel of Freeport, Taylor Bach of Freeport, Jack, Payton and Tess Eken of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Noah and Micah Bach of San Antonio, Texas and Michael C. Bach of Chicago, and two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Bach and Ashton Wool of Freeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-laws Bob Steele and Nick Bach, and two nephews and a great nephew.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Freeport.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014 at Walker Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and Friends Forever Humane Society, both in Freeport, Illinois.
