Obituary

Kenneth T. Kloster, 82 of Durand, IL, passed away Saturday Morning March 13th 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison Wisconsin. Born March 13th, 1939, the son of Chris and Pearl (Wolfe) Kloster.

He married the love of his life Janet Lohmeier on October 8th, 1960. Kenneth was a man of many things. He started off graduating from Dakota High School in 1957. He then worked at Barber Coleman and North Health Care as a manufacturing supervisor until he retired in 1996. He started up Kloster Taxidermy from 1976-2016. Janet helped him with this and they traveled to many of the county fairs meeting lots of people. He could talk to anyone. It was one of his best traits. As a man of faith he was very involved with his church and community. He was a member of St Paul Church of Epleyanna in Davis, IL. All his life he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He shared his expertise with all of the family, especially Cade as the youngest hunter in the family. He made lots of special memories with so many people I cannot begin to list. He was a member of many groups including Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, National Turkey Federation and the NRA. He donated many mounts to these organizations to help with fund raising. Spending time with family was one of the most important priorities in life. He also liked to travel with family, make wine, go hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, just being outdoors with family and friends. He had lots of family/friend gatherings. You were always welcome at his home and 5 o'clock was always brandy time!

He is survived by his wife Janet Kloster who he married nearly 61 years ago; daughter Melodie (William) Holt; son, Michael Kloster; grandchildren Leann (Jake )Williams, Lexi Holt, Alyssa Holt, Cade Kloster, and Rachel Kloster; great grandchild, Beckett Williams; brothers Harold Kloster and Jerry Kloster; and sisters Neva Barker and Nancy Brungraber.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; in-laws Milton and Bertha Lohmeier, daughter-in-law Kristin Kloster; brothers, Richard Kloster and Vernon Kloster; sister, Norma Fiene; and brother-in-law, Richard Olsen.
