Freeport – Kenneth Mortimer, 70 of Rock City passed away at Walnut Acres, Freeport on Sunday January 9, 2022.  Born on August 22, 1951 to the late Harold and Vilma (Bird) Mortimer. He graduated from Southern Illinois University after high school and was a dental laboratory technician.  He enjoyed working on garden tractors in his spare time as well as competing in garden tractor pulling events in the area.  He made a lot of great friends through this hobby.  He also owned and operated his own dental laboratory.

He is survived by his brother, Rodney Mortimer of Rock City and many great friends and caregivers that he leaves behind.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a celebration of Ken's life at a later date and time.  His final resting place will be at Rock City Cemetery. Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com .
