Freeport-Kenneth E Schnitzler, 56, of Freeport, passed quietly and peacefully, with his family at his side, on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Born June 25, 1948 in Freeport he was the son of Julius and Martha (Handel) Schnitzler.
He married Dawn Capps December 11, 1970.
A 1966 graduate of Freeport High School he attended college in Chicago returning to Freeport to work at Micro Switch.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving is his wife, Dawn of Freeport; 2 daughters, Misty (John) Lashelle of Freeport and Marny (Stanley) Farrar of Janesville, Wisconsin; one son, William (Krista) Schnitzler of Freeport; 3 brother in-laws, Dan (DeeAnn) Capps of K.C., Mo, Michael (Sandy) Capps of Branson, Mo, William Capps of Daytona Beach; 2 sister in-laws, Dana (Jeff) Ecker of Ellicott City, Md, and Debbie (Jeff) Hartman of Freeport; 5 grandchildren, Brittany and Briana Schnitzler, who lived with Kenneth and Dawn, Justin LaShelle, Jordan, and Kyleah Schnitzler all of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He loved playing golf, was very involved with his grandchildren in baseball and fishing and was a Packer fan.
He was a member of the Freeport Eagles.
Private family services will be held.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established in his name.
