Kenneth R. Sorn, 90 of Freeport, IL passed away December 14, 2025 at Park View Home in Freeport. Ken was born December 11, 1935 in Freeport, IL to Clarence and Ruth (Miller) Sorn. Ken graduated from Forreston High School in 1953 and served in the Army in Fort Hood, TX.

After 35 years, Ken retired from Sieg Illinois Company as President and General Manager. He married Kay Ellen Miller on September 14, 1957 in Mt. Morris, IL. In 2025, they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary with their 2 children; Cindy S. (Jon) Phillips of Freeport and Timothy J. (Stephanie) Sorn of Phelps, WI.

Ken enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, ATV'ing and golfing. He was a handyman, always looking for a project, including assisting on his grandson's Eagle Scout project on the Jane Addams Trail. In retirement, Ken and Kay enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and spending the winters in Surprise, AZ.

Ken is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren: Shawn (Jenna) Phillips of Darlington WI, Linsey Phillips of Freeport, IL, Sierra Richards of Iron River, MI and Tabitha Richards (Anthony) of Dakota IL, great grandchildren Landon Phillips and Hattie Phillips and a brother Gerald Sorn of Mesa, AZ, along with nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clarence Jr. (Shirley) and Robert (Sandra). Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Grateful thanks to the professional staff of Parkview Memory Care for their special care.
