Freeport – Kimberly J. Pudlas, 66 of Freeport passed away on November 13, 2022 at FHN Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on September 21, 1956 to the late Paul and Charlotte (Kniersch) Kutzke.
Kim married Jack in 1997 at a small in home ceremony in Forreston, IL. Kim loved to go to garage sales and antique auctions. Kim operated a small antique store in Elroy, IL with Jack for many years after retiring from Quebecor Printing in Mt. Morris, IL. Kim had a passion for interior design and loved to constantly refresh tables, countertops, shelves, and walls with new home decor. The exterior of the home was also elaborately maintained with beautiful flowers, plants and trees. Kim loved decorating for Halloween and Christmas. Every inch of the exterior was decorated with lights and displays to the point where the power company had to come and increase the wattage into our house to account for the extra power needed to operate those holiday displays. She loved crossword puzzles, solitaire, and playing Uno. She loved dogs and she had one her entire life.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Pudlas of Forreston; daughters Danielle (Brett) Alexander of Oregon, IL and Kirby (Darrin) Marcure of Long Grove, IA. Step children, Brendan (Kellie) Pudlas of Mt. Morris, IL; Kim (Mark) Lawson of Dixon, IL; Step-grandchildren Troy, Kelsey and Katelin Pudlas ; Kennedy and Tyler Burkhart. Her sisters, Kathy (Craig) Joeston of Freeport, Karen (Mike) Brinkmeier of Freeport and Kendra (Kevin) Warner of Lena, IL. Her legacy includes her grandchildren Elena and Levi Alexander as well as her fur grandchildren, Bixby and Wrigley Marcure. She also has 7 nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Paul and Charlotte Kutzke. and her late husband, John Ghibellini.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, November 19 th beginning at 10:30am at Walker Mortuary. There will be service immediately following also at Walker Mortuary beginning at 11:30am with Pastor Ted Michaelsen of Bethany United Church of Christ officiating.
