Larry A Toelke

1946-2023

Larry A Toelke, 77, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023.  Larry spent his last few days on earth at Serenity Hospice House of Oregon, IL, surrounded by family.  Born March 21, 1946, in Freeport, IL, he was the oldest son of the late Alvin and Irene Toelke (Meinert).  Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Duane, and Duane's youngest daughter Katrina.

Larry grew up on a dairy farm in Davis.  Larry had special needs and worked for many years with Malcolm Eaton Enterprises of Freeport, IL.

Larry loved his John Deere B tractor and would get excited when an opportunity came around for him to drive it in a parade in Rock City.  Although Larry never married and had children of his own, he loved to hold and comfort his nieces and nephew when they were babies. Larry also enjoyed going on family vacations with his brother Duane and Duane's daughter's families to local attractions.

He is survived by his brother, Robert, of Davis and his sister, Linda, of Chicago.  Larry is also survived by nieces Stacy, Kristine, Melissa, Amanda, and Becca and his nephew Craig.  He is also blessed to have many grand nieces and nephews and one great-grand niece.
