Larry passed away at home on October 23, 2013 in the same neighborhood where he had lived his entire life. Born September 29, 1939 in Freeport he was the son of Vernon and Dorothy (Gassman) Julius.
He was a 1957 graduate of Freeport High School.
Larry married Clara Jensen on March 31, 1966.
Farming was his passion from early on. Along with farming, he enjoyed working as a Seed Corn Dealer which provided him and his wife many special opportunities to make friends and travel all over the world. He was the owner of Larry Julius Trucking.
He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served as an elder, usher and bus driver.
He was also a 50 year charter member of the Freeport Rural Fire Department.
Larry enjoyed being outside, spending time with his grandchildren, boating and deer hunting with cousins, convertible rides, pulling pranks and traveling with his sweetheart, Clara.
He was known to family and friends as hard working, loving, giving, sentimental and fun loving (always a kid at heart!)
Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 47 years, Clara; two daughters, Teresa (Scott) Landon of Davenport, Iowa and Lisa (David) Pehl of Freeport; five grandchildren, Levi, Noah and Elizabeth Landon of Davenport, Iowa and Summer and Matthew Pehl of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Dorothy, and his younger brother, Jack.
