Orangeville
LaVella B. Rudy, 79, of Orangeville, was promoted to Glory on Thursday, October 22, at her son's home.
Born July 6, 1936 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Brigadier Watson J. and B. LaVella (Schafer) Hoffman. She married Edwin A. Rudy, Sr. February 9, 1957 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He died October 16, 2008.
In her early life she worked at Burgess Battery and later was a stay-at-home wife, mother, and homemaker.
She was a member of the Salvation Army Corps and their Home League.
Surviving are her children, Edwin (Rose) Rudy Jr. of Orangeville, and Jayme (Ron) Wubben of Rockford; 5 grandchildren, Eddie and Michelle Rudy, Kali, Bailey, and Kyra Wubben; and her cousin Claralyn Lowman and many other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her infant daughter, Styrene; her sister, Betty Jean Gruenwald; and infant granddaughter, Veronika Wubben.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Salvation Army Corps in Freeport.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Salvation Army Corps.
