Lenora J. Grego, 83, of Machesney Park, formerly of Freeport, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born May 4, 1929 in Freeport she was the daughter of Raymond and Leola (Hammett) Cox. She married Frank A. Grego Jr. January 5, 1946 in Pennsylvania. He died December 11, 1994.
She worked at Micro Switch until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in
Freeport.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathryn (James) Tenney of Freeport and Diana (John) Lissa of Machesney Park; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; ten step great grandchildren; three sisters, Sue Boland of Pearl City, Dorothy "Dot" Garrison, of California; Leola "Bunny" Gerloff of Freeport; one brother, Paul Cox of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; one brother; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7p.m. where at 7 p.m. there will be a scripture service.
