Leola Alice Deery, 92, of Freeport, died Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born October 18, 1915 in Woodbine she was the daughter of William and Alice (Bane) Hayes. She married Charles Simmons in 1935 and he died in 1970. She married Bernard Deery in 1973 and he died in 1978.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley (Leonard) Dexter of Freeport and Ruth (Ralph) Riegger of Paducah, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren, Gary Helbling of Atlanta, Georgia, Debra Watson of Metropolis, Vicki Seeman and Steven Dexter both of Pensacola, Florida; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one son, Milo Dieterich; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Don Jamerson of First Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of service at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established.
