Leonard Howard, age 59 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. He was born on December 17, 1961 in Chicago, IL. After receiving his GED from Freeport HS, he served in the United States Army. Leonard worked for Kelly Springfield until retiring in 2006.

He loved playing and watching sports, especially any of the Chicago teams.  He loved anything Chicago. He had a love for cars. Most of all, Leonard loved his family.

He is survived by his two sons, Gary Howard of Chicago and Deandre (Amanda Wenger) Parker of Freeport; step-son, Myron (Brittany) Collins of Indianapolis, IN; step-daughter, Laquita Collins of Chicago; several grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Audrey) Howard of Freeport; sisters, Christine Howard of Chicago, Beverly Howard of Freeport, and Regina Howard of Chicago; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother, Naomi Howard; son Leonard Howard Jr.; brother Dwayne Howard; sisters Debra Howard and Patricia Joyce.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 1 pm at Freeport Faith Center with Pastor Deontae Collier officiating. There will be a visitation beginning at 11 am until the time of service.  A memorial fund has been established in his name. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
