Leonard L. Luettig, 79, of DeKalb, formerly of Freeport, died Monday, June 17, 2013 in DeKalb.
Born January 1, 1934 in rural Freeport he was the son of Edward and Laura (Brubaker) Luettig.
He married Dorothy Miller September 6, 1958 and she died July 5, 2008.
Leonard was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He owned and operated the Mower Inn in Freeport for 20 years.
Leonard was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a volunteer rural Fireman.
Surviving are his daughters, Diane (Jeffrey) Lizer of DeKalb and Arlene (Jeffrey) Petersen of Byron, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Joshua Lizer, Shaun Dorsey, Cassandra Bates, Jordan Bates and Cierra Lizer; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Donald Luettig; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Carreno.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Walker Mortuary.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
A memorial has been established in his name.
