LeRoy A. Bower, 84 of Freeport died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital Freeport. Born April 22, 1928 in Lena he was the son of Lester and Vanchie (Thomasson) Bower. On December 8, 1946 he and Mary Lou Raab were united in marriage. For many years LeRoy drove truck, did construction and owned and operated Bower Tire Service in Freeport for 11 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Attended Cedarville Baptist Church and was a member of the Freeport Eagles Club. Surviving are his wife of Freeport, three children Craig (Marj) Bower of Freeport, Wendy (Paul) Saavedra of Lena, Jeffrey (Gerry Lou) Bower of Freeport; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great greatgrandchild; sister Gwen (John) Barth of Dakota, brother Duane (Elaine) Bower of Bradford, Ont.; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, son Alvin Bower and a brother Eugene.
