Leslie "Les" W. Schrader, 73 of Freeport passed away on February 17, 2024 at Heritage Woods of Freeport.  He was born on January 13, 1951 to George and Margaret (Janssen) Schrader.  Les was the youngest of 9 children.

He retired as a truck driver from Behr Iron and Metal in Rockford IL, He also worked at W.T Rawleigh Co, Schwan's, Beeline and Seward Screw. He married Sylvia (Hamon) Drake on June 7, 1980 and she passed in 2021. For a brief duration he and his wife Sylvia were park managers for Timber Ridge Mobile Home Park in Freeport. He also spent time helping on the family farm in his younger years.

He was an avid Packer fan and he had a great love for dogs of all kind. Many knew him by his CB handle, "Trouble".  He enjoyed his weekends camping on his time off from trucking. Watching cartoons and Westerns filled his day with joy.

His surviving children are, Steve (Staci) Schrader, Danny (Betty) Schrader and Nicole Schrader.  His Step-sons are, Kevin (Melissa) Drake and Keith (Sharon) Drake.  His survivors also include, his brothers, Lonnie (Wendy) Schrader, Don (Shirley) Schrader and Larry (Bert) Schrader. His surviving sisters are, Arlene Koeller and Elaine Hull.

His Brother in-laws are Jerry Burmeister and Alan Hamon.  In addition there are many nieces and nephews. His legacy also includes several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents, wife, siblings,  Carol Kurth, Gary Schrader, and Lorraine Bork; Brother in-laws- Wendel Kurth & Fay Koeller and Sister in-laws- Carol Hamon & Linda Burmeister.

There will be a visitation held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 beginning at 10 am and a service will immediately follow at 11:30 am all at Walker Mortuary.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name. Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
