Lester Eugene Snyder, 82, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Freeport, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
Born November 25, 1926 in Freeport he was the son of Albert J. and Lura (Beidler) Snyder. He married Darlene Lorraine Knodle December 11, 1946.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Les was a tool and die maker by trade. He worked for King Radio in Olathe , Kansas .
Surviving are his wife, Darlene of Overland Park, Kansas ; 1 daughter, Darles (Steve) Kuntz of St. Charles, Missouri; 1 son, Brian (Pam) Snyder of Olathe, Kansas; 1 sister, Opal L. Skeel of Freeport ; 4 grandchildren; Geoffrey Kuntz, Darci Struckmann, Ryan Snyder, Kyle Snyder and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 24, 2009 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary.
Visitation will be Friday January 23, 2009, 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial for Kansas City Hospice House.
