Lester L. Wise, 75 of Cedarville died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph Home in Freeport.
Born October 6, 1937 in Freeport he was the son of Merle and Laverne (Yeoman) Wise.
He was a graduate of Dakota High School.
He and Judith DeGroff were united in marriage on December 13, 1958 in Davis.
Lester farmed in Stephenson County most of his life and retired from MTX working in Winslow and Monroe. He was a member of the Dakota Presbyterian Church, Stephenson County Antique Engine Club and the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club in Sycamore.
Surviving are his wife Judy of Cedarville; children Doug Wise of Cedarville, Tom (Alice) Wise of McConnell; three grandchildren Alicia, Brandon and Tyler Wise; four great grandchildren Brooklyn, Rebecca, Michael and Annabelle; three brothers Ivan (Francis) Wise of Dakota, Don (Elaine) Wise of Dakota, Carl (Sharon) Wise of MO; one sister Dorothy (Dave) Phillips of Warren; sister-in-law Nancy Wise of Freeport; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother Gerald, one sister Joyce and brother-in-law Winston Zipsie.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
The Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Cedarville Baptist Church with Reverend Gene McIntosh officiating.
Gathering with the family will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Church.
A memorial has been established in his name.
Burial will be at the Dakota Cemetery.
