Obituary

Lillian Koehler, 93, died Wednesday March 5, 2008 in Monroe, Wisconsin following a brief illness.
Born March 28, 1914 in Florence Station in Stephenson County she was the daughter of Jans and Mary (Janssen) Lingbeck.
Lillian was a kind and generous person. Her greatest pleasures came from helping her family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and euchre but her greatest passion was cooking and baking, especially pies which she lovingly shared.
Widowed at the age 37, Lillian was a strong and independent woman with a can do attitude. Even into her 90s, Lillian, "an extreme grandma" lived life with a sparkle and an adventurous spirit.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Katharine (Jerry) Boness of Lake Oswego, Oregon; 3 sons, Larry Piefer of Casselberry, Florida, Jim (Jean) Piefer of Dryden, Michigan, and Lyle (Susan) Piefer of Grant, Michigan; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 10 nieces; 8 nephews; numerous friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Louis W.; infant son; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Walker Mortuary.
