Obituary

O'Linda Louise Loresch, 91 passed away on Feb. 11, 2021, 11:20 am, at her daughter's home surrounded by family.  Louise, as she preferred to be called, was born August 16, 1929 to German-Russian immigrants, Alex and Mary Hurst (nee Schneider) in Maywood, IL.  She grew up with 4 siblings, Edward, Esther, Lorraine and Elmer during the depression era but remembered her childhood as happy and never wanting.  Louise married Henry Loresch in 1948 and was blessed with 3 daughters and 1 son.

She enjoyed doting on her children, building a beautiful home and sharing the joys of life with her grown siblings and their families. She made it a priority to maintain religious and family traditions, and loved to entertain, with holiday spreads featuring huge turkeys, hams and home baked treats.  Louise was very sociable, as she and Henry enjoyed having dinner and cocktails with friends on Saturday nights to dance to the sounds of big band live music.  Louise loved fine dining, fine clothing, Captain Morgan, playing Pinochle and smoking cigarettes.    She is remembered by her niece, Marybeth, as her favorite Aunt, beloved friend and second mom who was generous and would gladly fist-fight you for the bill.

Louise enjoyed telling others what to do but refused to be told what to do.  She always spoke her mind no matter where she was or who was there.  Louise loved to spoil her granddaughters, and was always keen to provide fashion, cooking and housekeeping tips in the Louise Loresch way.

In her later years she resided at Prairie Ridge Senior Apts.   In 2018 she moved to Stephenson Nursing Center where she enjoyed watching old movies, drinking coffee with 3 creams and 5 sugars, sipping Coca-Cola while munching sour cream and onion chips and M & Ms.

Louise is survived by her daughters Marion Thompson (Arizona), Linda (and Jim) Kutz (Freeport), Dawn Loresch (Lombard, IL),  son John Loresch (Centralia, IL), nieces, nephews, 2 granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren.

Louise will be laid to rest alongside her beloved family at Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park, IL.

"May your glass be ever full.

May the roof over your head be always strong.

And may you be in heaven a full half hour before the devil knows you're dead."
