Freeport-Linda L. Riese, 58, of Freeport, passed on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Freeport Memorial Hospital.
Born September 16, 1944 in Freeport she was the daughter of Ralph and Marian (Meinders) Benell. She married Robert V. Riese June 17, 1967 and he passed on December 20, 1993.
She worked at Micro Switch for 26 years and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving are three sons, James Riese of Freeport, Brian (Cherie) Riese of Gilbert, Arizona, and Chad Riese of Freeport; two brothers, Gary Benell of Freeport and Robert (Patty) Benell of Lanark; three sisters, Carol (Bill) Meador and Patricia Folk both of Lanark, Joyce (Richard) Thomas of Florissant, Missouri; one grandson, Cody Riese of Freeport; special Aunt, Joyce Shade of Freeport; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Jerry Sjoberg; one sister, Judy Colberg.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Walker Mortuary with Chaplain Don Swanson of Freeport Memorial Hospital officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery.
Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary.
